Vanity (Eitelkeit), sometimes also called Young Woman with a Peacock, was part of a collection which the porcelain factory exhibited at the International Exposition of Art and Technology in Paris in 1937. In the late 1930s it epitomised Slavkov’s figurative porcelain production, and it was used to promote the company in marketing collateral and print advertisements up until the 1950s (see inscription on figure).
